Description
Free forging is applied to produce bent axle in shipbuilding industry. With CCS qualification certification, we use open die forging to manufacture optical axis and bent axle. Using common tools or directly making the blank obtained desired geometrical shape and internal quality on the forging device, called free forging.
Open die forging is the major production method for large forgings. Because this forging process can crush thick cast structure of steel ingot and forge the internal porosity and shrinkage porosity. Free forging allows the streamline structure to distribute reasonably along the forgings.

Application of Open Die Forging for Shipbuilding Industry
1. Free forging typically can be applied to commercial shipbuilding, LNG transport, propulsion system, turbine components, refueling systems and valves.
2. This open die forging process is also suitable for offshore applications like offshore drilling and marine cargo, which demands materials that are both resistant to seawater corrosion and high strength performance.
3. Free forging is used to producing accumulator tubes, bearing housings, bow planes, hub bodies, jack nuts, propeller tips, sea chest, seal housings, seal rings, shaft sleeves, valve bodies and components.
